LiuGong 870HE Advances Zero-Emission Quarry Operations at STRABAG

LiuGong continues to support the transition toward sustainable construction with the deployment of its electric wheel loader, the 870HE, at a STRABAG quarry in Slovenia The project shows STRABAG's investment in technology that reduces emissions while maintaining high performance in demanding working environments.

As one of Europe’s leading construction technology groups, STRABAG is actively promoting sustainability across its operations. Currently, fuel consumption is the largest contributor to STRABAG’s carbon footprint. Advancing different low- and zero-emission drive technologies for construction machinery is key to achieving STRABAG's climate neutrality target by 2040. The company’s commitment to environmental responsibility aligns closely with LiuGong’s vision of delivering zero-emission solutions for the heavy equipment industry.

As part of this initiative, a BEV handover event was held on site, bringing together around 20 participants, including key decision-makers from STRABAG as well as new potential customers. The event provided an opportunity to experience LiuGong’s electric technology directly in real quarry operations.

The LiuGong 870HE, one of the company’s most advanced electric wheel loaders, demonstrates how zero-emission solutions can be successfully integrated into heavy-duty applications. Designed for productivity, reliability, and efficiency, the machine supports customers in achieving their sustainability targets without compromising performance.

This deployment reflects STRABAG’s use of LiuGong’s technology as part of the Group‘s wider commitment to improve sustainability in construction operations.
