Leading construction equipment manufacturer, LiuGong Machinery, has received the prestigious 2026 Red Dot Product Design Award for its T-series wheel loader family.
Developed collaboratively between UK and China design studios, the new T-series represents the next evolution of LiuGong’s core product line—the very machines that built LiuGong’s reputation worldwide.
Spanning models from 7 to 33 tonnes (and expanding into the mining sector), the T-series showcases a unified, operator-focused architecture built from the ground up through years of customer insight and field research.
According to Gary Major, Senior Creative Industrial Designer at LiuGong Europe: “The T-series project involved holistically building a common design DNA across a family of machines and improving functionality, ergonomics, and visual identity in equal measure.”
“While it’s our third Red Dot win, this one is particularly meaningful because it celebrates what LiuGong was founded on—wheel loaders. It’s a proud milestone for our global design team.”
The Red Dot Award: Product Design is one of the world’s most respected design competitions, recognising innovation, quality, and usability across industries. Held annually in Essen, Germany, the Red Dot jury evaluates thousands of entries based on criteria such as innovation, functionality, and ergonomic quality.
LiuGong’s recent win solidifies its growing reputation as a Chinese manufacturer driving global design standards in construction machinery. It highlights the brand’s commitment to innovative industrial designs for local applications.
The T-series will join LiuGong’s previous Red Dot-winning designs—the 4180D motor grader and the Dressta TD-16N crawler dozer—in the Red Dot Design Museum.
